# The interface is the moat

Models are a commodity you rent by the token. What compounds is the product you wrap around them.

Every capability advantage in this field has a half-life measured in months. The model you are proud of today is a line item on someone else’s pricing page by spring.

What does not commoditise is the accumulated judgement in the product: which cases to escalate, how to phrase a refusal, where a person needs to sign off.

That knowledge lives in the interface, and it is specific to your business in a way no general model can replicate.
